Not medical or clinical treatment
Coaching, sober companion services, peer support, wellness coaching, and Intervention Support offered by The Next Stretch Coaching are not medical care, clinical treatment, psychotherapy or counseling, diagnosis, detox, or emergency care. They do not replace a physician, psychiatrist, licensed therapist, or treatment program.
Nothing on this website, and nothing said in a conversation with Gavin, is a medical or clinical assessment. Decisions about medication, withdrawal, diagnosis, and treatment belong with a licensed medical or clinical professional. Do not stop or change a medication or treatment plan because of anything on this site.
About peer support and credentials
Gavin Hassett is certified by the Texas Certification Board as a Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS). Peer support draws on lived experience and recovery-oriented training. Peer specialist certification is not a license to provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or medical treatment. Under Texas rules, peer specialists do not practice psychotherapy, make clinical or diagnostic assessments, or give expert opinions.
Training listed on this site informs the work. It is not a claim that coaching or companion work is licensed therapy or medical treatment.
When clinical care is needed
If a situation calls for medical, psychiatric, or clinical care, the honest move is to say so and help you find it. Intervention Support is a prepared family conversation. It is not a clinical intervention and does not guarantee that anyone will accept help.

No particular result is promised. Each person and family is different, and outcomes depend on many things outside anyone’s control.
